Inspiration and Revelation
from General Conference
Don’t
you just love General Conference! It’s a time of joy! Not just because we can
spend a whole weekend in our PJ’s and still be spiritual, but because of the
feeling we get when we hear that perfect talk that we swear was given just for
us. For me, that was President Bednar’s talk!
As
Monday after conference comes, I thought I would share some of the light bulb
thoughts that went on inside my head this weekend. Of course, everything for me
is very personal and meant to boost me. Don’t judge. I would love to hear what
your moments of light were about and how you plan on putting them to work in
your families.
Here
goes:
·
People
want God’s who do not demand much
·
Sinful
thoughts can get me in just as much trouble.
Be aware!
·
We
are called on to bear on another’s burdens-especially in our family. It’s the
small things we do-without complaining-that make us disciples of Christ
·
If
Christ can ask the Father to forgive those soldiers of their actions-while they
are in the process of killing him-I can forgive others who wrong me…no matter
how small or how badly I want to hold on.
·
Nothing
should take precedence over the relationship between man and wife, except the
relationship with the Savior.
·
Stop
watching shows you know you shouldn’t. Netflix won’t get you into heaven.
·
Set
a family plan with rules about how electronics are going to be used in our
home. If you fail to plan you plan to fail.
·
The
greatest filter comes from a testimony of the Savior
·
Family
History work offers protection to my family from temptation.
·
The
world will not glide calmly toward the Second Coming. Prepare for that.
·
After
all we can do, our Faith in Christ will justify our hopes
·
Destructive
words can take a hazardess situation and make it fatal
·
Find
things to be grateful for in the midst of trials, not afterward. Blessing await
if you do.
·
Gratitude
fosters empathy toward others. I need to work on having empathy
·
Study
Preach My Gospel to understand what Justin is working with and to help
understand him better when he comes home
·
Ask
myself-What can I do to help others succeed during their 4 minutes
·
Happiness
is not the absence of a load-it’s the load that is keeping me on the straight
and narrow path.
